The agreement
These terms govern your use of the website at empressfirearms.com and your enrollment in courses offered by Empress Firearms LLC, doing business as EMPRESS, a women only firearms education company serving Central Ohio. By using the site or enrolling in a course, you agree to these terms.
Education only
EMPRESS provides firearms education and instruction. EMPRESS does not sell, transfer, or provide firearms or ammunition for purchase, and nothing on this site is an offer to sell a firearm or ammunition. Equipment used during instruction is provided for the lesson and remains the property of its owner.
Women only
EMPRESS courses are for women. Husbands, boyfriends, and significant others are not permitted at training. This policy exists so that every woman in the room can learn at her own pace, and it is applied without exception.
Eligibility
You must be legally eligible to handle a firearm under federal law and the law of Ohio to participate in live fire instruction. By enrolling, you confirm that you are eligible. EMPRESS courses are for adults only. You must be at least eighteen years of age to participate, attend, or be present on the range or in the classroom, as stated in the Student Waiver.
The Student Waiver
Every student signs the EMPRESS Student Waiver before live fire instruction. The waiver governs assumption of risk, release of liability, and range safety, and it is a condition of participation.
Safety on the range
Safety is the whole point of what we teach, and it is not negotiable in practice. The instructor may end any participant's involvement in a session for unsafe conduct. In that case, the fee for that day is not refunded. The rest of these terms, and the Refund Policy, continue to apply to any remaining portion of the course.
Payments
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your card details never touch our servers. Deposits and course fees, and the refunds that apply to them, are described in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Your information
The information you share with us is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell personal data.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. Continued use of the site or enrollment after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict of law principles.
